| There is an additional fencing allowance to a max. of €350 to €400 per hectare for Conifers and €450 to €500 per hectare for Broadleaves. The higher rates for fencing apply where IS436 Fencing materials are used. | ||||||
These rates apply for approvals issuing from 1st January 2011.
These are fixed rates for afforestation, FEPS and Native Woodland Establishment.
In most cases, the grants available can be expected to cover the costs.
Grant approval must be obtained before any work commences.
Higher Grants are paid to encourage the planting of Broadleaves, there are higher costs associated with these species.
The required stocking rates for Oak and Beech have been reduced to 3,300 trees per hectare.
GPC 8. for Alder is new, with a required stocking rate of 2,500 trees per hectare.

- Conifers 1.0 ha (2.47 acres) - Broadleaves 0.1 ha. (0.25 acres).

Alder - Stocking level of 2,500 trees/ha.
