These rates apply for Financial Approvals issued from 1st January 2011. Premium rates remain unchanged for existing contracts, i.e. areas planted up to December 2010, see tables below.
In addition to the above Farmers who are in REPS and plant 8 hectares or more under the FEPS (Forest Environment Protection Scheme) qualify for an additional €200 per hectare.
Forestry Farmer Premium payments are payable for 20 years. Non Farmer Forestry Premium payments are payable for 15 years.
Forestry Premiums are tax free.
The first premium is paid at the same time as the afforestation grant.
Land afforested since January 2009 may be eligable for payment under the Single Payment Scheme.
A "Farmer" is defined as:
Documentary evidence of farming income must be supplied.
