Sea Scout Group

New Galway Sea Scout Group, starting up later this year, this Group is to be part of Scouting Ireland www.scouts.ie

The New Group is to be based somewhere near the Docks and are currently looking for any suitable place where Scouts could have their weekly meetings.

It is hoped to start with a Scout section and possibly also Cub-Scouts.

Scouts ages 12 to 15yrs and Venture Scouts 15 to 17 yrs

Cub Scouts,ages 9 to 11yrs.

The Aim of Sea Scouting and the method of achieving that Aim are the same as elsewhere within Scouting. In Sea Scouting, water is as essential a training and Boating, waterborne activities and expeditions are integral parts of the Programme. Sea Scouts also go hiking, mountain walking and camping, just like other Scouts. The Sea Scout training scheme is a fully integrated and balanced programme of sea and land activities, and Sea Scout Troops have a very good reputation of involvement in all Scouting activities and events.

At this stage we are interested in hearing from adults interested in being involved.
